Apartment Soho Tomás Heredia (Málaga)

Our wonderful apartment Soho Tomás Heredia is located in a central street called Calle Tomás Heredia. This apartment is located in the Soho area, also known as the Arts District. This ancient middle-class residential area is situated in a privileged enclave within the city, being just 150 metres away from the Port of Málaga and next to La Alameda Principal (Main Boulevard) offer both locals and visitors modern and different leisure, culture, commercial and business options.

At the beginning of the port you will find the Málaga Eye, inspired by the Ferris Wheels located in big cities such as London and Berlin. From the top you can admire the best views over the city of Málaga. At the end of the port, by crossing El Palmeral, you will reach Muelle Uno, which is a new concept of al fresco commercial centre full of bars, restaurants, shops and craft stalls. We highly recommend having dinner there whilst admiring the bay, the Alcazaba and the Castle of Gibralfaro lit up.

Calle Larios reaches from La Alameda Principal to Plaza de la Constitución, where the maze of streets that make up the historical centre of the city lead off. This is the best way to discover the city centre and enjoy this fabulous city and its people. Calle Larios is a meeting point and events venue which is beautifully decorated for each celebration and welcomes all visitors at all times of the year: Easter, Carnivals, the Cinema Festival of Malaga, the August Feria and the spectacular Christmas lights. Each and every one of these events is a reflection of the customs and traditions of this outstanding city, which means that you must take the opportunity to experience them during your stay in Málaga.

From Calle Larios other streets lead off from where you can get to the Cathedral of Málaga, known locally as La Manquita (one-armed), and the Cathedral Museum. It is a delight to stop at one of the terraces in Plaza del Obispo, where the main door to the Cathedral is located, and have something to drink whilst admiring the beauty of the site. From Plaza de la Constitución you can get to the newly opened Thyssen Theatre of Málaga, located in Palacio de Villafiel, which is just a few metres away.

Approximately 1 kilometre away from the apartment is one of the main and most renowned plazas in the city: Plaza de la Merced. Street markets, festivals and different celebrations take place here. In Plaza de la Merced you will find a statue in homage to famous local painter and sculptor Pablo Ruiz Picasso, located opposite Picasso’s Birthplace Museum, headquarters of the Picasso Foundation. The statue was named by its artist The portrait of painter Pablo Picasso. It is a bronze statue by Francisco López Hernández and it represents Picasso sat on a marble bench with a notebook in his left hand and a pencil in his right hand. It was inaugurated on the 5th December 2008. Train station María Zambrano is located just 550 metres away. This airport is 8 kilometres away, which equates to about a 15 minute drive.
