The places we most like in the city of Málaga

We would like to use this section to recommend the places we most like in the city of Málaga so that all of our guests can enjoy the traditional places and feel like a true local Malagueño and not like a foreigner:

Try a pajarete (sweet wine of Málaga) in La Antigua Casa de Guardia (tavern established in 1840) located along La Alameda principal (the main boulevard)

Try a traditional beef burger in El LOLA (located in Calle Granada, next to El Pimpi)

Have a “bartolito” (battered fish) in Bar Orellana located in Calle de Moreno Monroy, nº5

Try in El Quitapenas one of its more than 50 tapas from traditional Andalucían cuisine, located in Pasaje de Chinitas, nº5

– Visit the recently reformed port area Muelle Uno.

– Take the tour bus around the city for a panoramic visit (the stop is located in Calle Molina Lario)

– Visit the central market of Atarazanas. You can dine al fresco as it offers tables and chairs and enjoy a great day out, weather permitting. We recommend the fried artichokes which are simply delicious

– Try some churros with chocolate sauce for breakfast or an afternoon snack in Casa Aranda (Calle Herrería del Rey, nº1) or Cafe Madrid (Calle de la Caldería, nº1)

– Climb up to the terrace of Hotel AC Málaga Palacio and enjoy the spectacular views (located in Calle Cortina del Muelle, nº1)

– Visit the Parador of Gibralfaro and enjoy the magnificent views which it boasts. We highly recommend booking a table during the feria days when the firework displays are held. Not only will you be able to enjoy a high quality menu, but you will also be able to see the fireworks from frontline

– Have some shellfish in El Callejón de las Gambas which is located in between Calle Larios and La Alameda Principal

– Visit La Malagueta Beach or the beach located on the new promenade, where you will find many beach bars (chiringuitos) which serve traditional fried fish

– Enjoy some delicious tapas at El Pimpi (local tavern) located in Calle Granada nº 62

– Try the “mountain dish” (plato de los montes), which consists of chorizo, pork, chips, peppers and fried breadcrumbs) in any restaurant in Los Montes de Málaga (mountain range located just above the city of Málaga)

– Have some skewered sardines and fried anchovies in any restaurant in Pedregalejo, the most famous and unique being El Tintero

We hope you enjoy them! Have fun!
